Lambing season usually starts around February.
This years lambing went well as the weather around February was very good and there wasn’t much cold weather, so most of the lambs were born in good conditions. However when the lambs were let out of the sheds and into the fields the weather became bad . Around the 3rd of March there was heavy snow all around the country and a lot of young animals had to be brought in from the fields so they would survive .On our own farm we have 300 ewes and have 220 still to lamb.
We have every ewe lambed with over 420 lambs .We had the ewes and lambs out for a week before we had to bring them back in .But overall lambing season went well this year
