The 2020 Junior Certificate

The 2019/2020 year was originally meant to begin the Junior Certificate exam on the 3rd of June 2020. However, on March 13th secondary level schools across Ireland were closed due to the Corona virus, students were asked to clear out books from lockers and other belongings for hygiene and safety reasons. Originally schools were to be closed for 2 weeks. On the 19th of March all oral and practical tests were cancelled, and students were to receive full marks. At this stage teachers and students, are attempting to teach and learn through online resources such as zoom. For the first while it was unclear if, when and how the Junior Certification would pan out. In the end the Junior Certificate was cancelled, and people had mixed opinions on this. Schools were to give students grades to the students either predicted grades or by an online exam from home
